I believe every one of us has a desire to support a great cause, but it's difficult to know exactly how our contribution will be utilized, or to know if we are really making a difference. When I first learned of Davis Education Foundation and saw its unwavering commitment to students at risk within our own local community, I had no idea that 1,400 students were experiencing homelessness and in need of food and daily support. I couldn't believe that these 1,400 students were struggling right here within in our own circles of influence. Then I learned that the Foundation staff and volunteers made it possible for these kids to have lunch every day during the pandemic when schools were closed. Who does that? Only those truly invested in student success. I invite each of you to come learn about the mission and commitment that this foundation lives by. Come and see the Teen Centers and the Teen Living Center created to assure that these kids have resources for their basic needs. Come and see the kids doing the work and learning to be self-reliant. Their barriers to learning are being removed, and they are thriving because of our contributions and the tireless efforts of all those who serve within the Foundation. The integrity and stewardship of each staff member and volunteer assures me that my contribution reaches those in need and is not wasted. These kids need us; they need you. This is a great worthy cause and any contribution will make a significant difference. I am a believer.
